Arrests made in drug trafficking investigation

Detectives executed a search warrant and reportedly found 46.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, 1.4 pounds of suspected heroin, and several firearms.

GLENDALE, Ore. -- Three men were arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into an interstate drug trafficking organization.

On Sunday around 1:30 p.m. Douglas County deputies and Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team detectives stopped a car on Interstate 5 near milepost 85. Authorities said it was occupied by Michael Panoosi, 54, Jack Lewis, 34, and Michael Housel, 44. All three men are from Los Angeles, California. 

Detectives executed a search warrant and reportedly found 46.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, 1.4 pounds of suspected heroin and several firearms. Officials believe much of the drugs were headed for Douglas County as well as some surrounding counties.

All three men were arrested. Panoosi and Lewis were sent to the Douglas County Jail. Michael Housel was cited and released.

They face multiple charges of unlawful possession of drugs. Panoosi and Lewis were also charged with felon in possession of a firearm. 

According to officials, the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are likely.
