GLIDE, Ore.-- Officials reported that the Archie Creek Fire had grown to 121,379 acres with 10 percent containment Sunday morning.
The fire grew from 116,000 acres Saturday.
Officials said that 539 personnel were assigned to the fire, with more expected to arrive through the day.
Warm, dry conditions combined with breezy winds are expected to continue, though overnight humidity is hoped to increase.
According to officials, direct and indirect fire line construction will continue Sunday, with crews mopping up completed line. On the southern and western flanks fo the fire, dozer line construction will continue where practical. Several crews are expected to work late into the night.
Air operations are grounded due to thick smoke, though three medium helicopters and one light helicopter are available if the smoke clears. Officials said that smoke over Roseburg is likely to begin lifting today.
There will also be a private meeting for landowners to learn about the status of their properties. The private drop-in event begins at 3 p.m. on Sept. 13 at Glide High School. The meeting is open to residents of the following locations:
