Alsea man faces long list of child sexual abuse charges

A child reported that the man sexually assaulted her over five months.

ALSEA, Ore. – An Alsea man was jailed and faces numerous charges for allegedly sexually abusing a child.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a child in February that she was sexually assaulted by Joshua Reeves, 40, over five months in 2019.

Detectives found Reeves in Florence on Sept. 22 where he was interviewed and arrested.

Reeves faces two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, seven counts of first-degree sodomy, three counts of third-degree sexual abuse, three counts of first-degree rape, first-degree sexual penetration and strangulation.
