Albany man found guilty of killing wife

ALBANY, Ore. -- An Albany man has been found guilty on three counts after striking and killing his wife in a drunk driving crash in October 2020: Manslaughter in the First Degree, Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and Reckless Driving.

Gary Donavon McDonald Jr., 53 recevied the verdict in Linn County Friday.

Police had said Colleen Kay McDonald, 61, was walking north along the shoulder of NE Century Drive when she was hit from behind by a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by McDonald, her husband. She died at the scene.

McDonald will be sentenced on Oct. 6.
