LEBANON, Ore. -- An Albany man was arrested Friday after police said he targeted two Lebanon businesses days before, allegedly stealing items and causing damage.

Mason Monroe, 25, was lodged in the Linn County Jail.

Lebanon police said on Nov. 26 Monroe cut through a chain link fence and entered a secured service yard and took gas and tools, valued over $1,000, from company vehicles.

He caused an estimated $750 worth of damage, police said.

Servco and Professional Mechanical were the victims of the crimes.

Police identified a suspect vehicle on video surveillance and located it on Nov. 30, arresting Monroe.

Monroe was charged with first-degree felony theft, second-degree criminal mischief and multiple counts of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle. Police said additional charges are expected.

Officers said they recovered some of the stolen items, and they were returned. Police said other items were also located, and officers are searching for their owners.
