911 service and non-emergency lines restored, police say

Eugene Police say their 911 service and non-emergency service for landlines are down, please use cell phone if you have an emergency.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Eugene police say their 911 service and non-emergency service for landline phones have been restored.

They said CenturyLink told them the situation has been resolved and all service restored.

The lines were down Tuesday morning, and police at the time said CenturyLink was working on the issue. Residents were asked to use their cell phones or go to the nearest fire station if they had an emergency. 

Communities affected included Blue River, Leaburg, Lowell, Oakridge, Marcola, Springfield and some Douglas County areas. This could have also had an impact in other Lane County locations east of Interstate 5.
