Crews fight early morning structure fire at Farwest Steel in Eugene

Four engines and two battalion chiefs responded to the Farwest Steel fire. Crews were on scene for about an hour and a half.

EUGENE, Ore. -- An early morning fire at Farwest Steel started in a laser cutter exhaust shaft, firefighters said.

Crews responded to the fire just before 5 a.m. Tuesday.

KEZI 9 News This Morning was on the scene. Photojournalist Scott Dodge spotted some smoke from his vantage point off the property. 

Around 5:30 a.m there were two engines left along with the two fire chiefs. The scene was cleared around 6:10 a.m.

Farwest Steel is located at 2000 Henderson Avenue.
