EUGENE, Ore. – AFSCME members have voted to ratify the tentative agreement reached by Lane County and the union.
The first round of voting happened Thursday evening, and the second round happened on Friday.
"Workers feel good about the stand they took and the contract they were able to win,” said Ross Grami, communications director for Oregon AFSCME. “Most importantly they are coming out of the strike with a much stronger and more united union. There is a lot of work to do moving forward but folks are excited and ready to go."
The next step is for county commissioners to vote on the agreement.
The AFSCME union went on strike for a week, which ended Wednesday, before the tentative agreement was reached.
