EUGENE, Ore. -- Lane County AFSCME employees are receiving support from fellow union members.

AFSCME members said the support is making a big difference for their union.

Among the unions showing support are the Graduate Teaching Fellow Federation, SEIU, and Teamsters.

The Oregon Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Unions (AFL CIO) tweeted out support in a statement saying "The bravery shown in Lane County to stand up for a fair contract demonstrates the kind of grit and determination that built America's Labor Movement."

"It's just, there's a level to where get to the table, make a fair contract because what's happening with the county employees is something that will resonate throughout any of the bargaining unions when they go into bargaining, " said the president of Oregon's local AFL CIO.

The union has been on strike since Wednesday.
