CHARLESTON, Ore. – The cause of a capsized boat is under investigation after four people were rescued by a Coast Guard crew in Charleston Thursday.
The Coast Guard got the call that Darean Rose, a 40-foot fishing boat, had capsized in Coos Bay after leaving the fuel pier in Charleston Marina just before 3 p.m.
The rescue took about 10 minutes and the Coast Guard found that there was about 1,200 gallons of fuel on board.
The fuel spill is being cleaned up by the Coast Guard and the boat’s owner was also contacted to help with the clean up process.
The Coast Guard said the four people aboard reported sustaining minor injuries.
