COOS COUNTY, Ore. -- The Coos County Sheriff's Office is trying to find out who left three puppies in a cat carrier at Lakeside County Park.

Animal Control Officers said a citizen found a portable cat carrier floating in the water near the boat ramp on May 2, and found three dead puppies inside.

Officers said the puppies appeared to be small breed, long haired dogs, possibly Dachshund or Chihuahua type dogs. All three were white with brown or black patches. The puppies appeared to be 3 to 4 months old.

Coos County Animal Control wants to hear from anyone who recognizes the carrier or knows anything about the incident. If you have any information, call animal control at (541) 751-2480.
