EUGENE, Ore.-- The 12th annual 20 Under 40 Awards showcased Eugene's rising business leaders Thursday evening.
The ceremony, which began at 6 p.m., honored 20 business professionals who are under 40 years old. Selected from a pool of nominees, organizers said the recipients were selected for their leadership and commitment to improving the community.
"I think an award like this really shows (Eugene's) commitment to growing leaders organically in our community, and attributing their success to the growth in our community," said former recipient Ashley Horner. "I think it's important that we encourage young business leaders and young entrepreneurs."
Over the ceremony's 12 years, 240 professionals have been recognized. According to award recipient Kim Forrest, the award is an honor, but making Eugene more prosperous on a daily basis is all the reward these businesspeople need.
"I am excited of course, but a little bit shocked," she said. "There are so many people doing amazing work in this community. I feel like I'm just in my small little sphere every day making the impacts I can make."
This year's ceremony included speakers and a keynote address on telling the story of the community.
It’s time to showcase the hard work and celebrate twenty of our area’s brightest young professionals.
Join us on Thursday, December 5th at Venue 252 for an evening of inspiration and excellence at the 20 Under 40 Awards!
