FLORENCE, Ore. -- A suspect is in custody after a robbery and stabbing in Florence on Monday, police said.
Officers responded to 1750 43rd St. at about 10 p.m.
Police said two victims were in their vehicle when three suspects approached them, demanding money and other items. One suspect opened the passenger door and punched one of the victims, and when the victim tried to kick at the suspect, he was stabbed twice in the leg.
The other victim chased off the suspects prior to officers arriving on scene.
Police said they identified Thomas Coverdale, 18, as the suspect who approached the passenger door. He was found and arrested. Coverdale faces charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful entry to a motor vehicle, and he had a warrant for criminal trespass.
