Gwinnett County police are looking for any additional victims who may have been assaulted by a College Park Uber driver who is accused of raping a 16-year-old girl.

On Thursday, Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested 58-year-old Abdoulie Jagne, who Gwinnett County Police Department detectives say raped his Uber passenger in the early morning hours Monday.

According to Cpl. Michele Pihera, spokeswoman for the department, officers assigned to the west precinct were dispatched to an apartment complex off Old Norcross Tucker Road in unincorporated Tucker in the early morning hours of Monday, where they encountered a 16-year-old girl who "appeared to be extremely intoxicated."

The girl reportedly told the officers that she was previously at a local bar drinking with friends and that one of her friends requested an Uber to get her home.

"The Uber driver eventually arrived and then later dropped her off in the apartment complex," Pihera said. "After she got out, she began banging on doors asking for help. One of residents called 911. When officers met with her, she told them that she was sexually assaulted by the Uber driver. Her pants were down around her ankles when she was found."

The victim was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Gwinnett police later made contact with the friend who had called the Uber and were able to obtain identifying information for the driver, along with the vehicle information.

"The case was immediately assigned to a Special Victims Unit detective," Pihera said. "The detective contacted Uber and with the information learned from (the company), it is likely that the rape occurred somewhere along South Norcross Tucker Road in between Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Old Norcross Tucker Road in unincorporated Norcross."

Additional charges could be forthcoming, Pihera added. In the meantime, the detective is looking for anyone else who may have been assaulted. Victims are asked to call 770-513-5338 to report the crime.

Jagne was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday.

An Uber spokesperson responded to the Daily Post's request for comment saying the company was taking the matter seriously.

"What's reported here is horrifying beyond words," the spokesperson said. "Our thoughts are with the rider and her family during this time. This driver has been permanently removed from the app."
