SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Some teens in Massachusetts say the minimum age to buy tobacco products should be 21.
The teens gave lawmakers 21-reasons why they feel 21-years should be the minimum age to buy tobacco products.
These students say big tobacco companies try to target teens and that raising the age limit may prevent some from getting hooked.
"Children shouldn't have to suffer during their daily life because of somebody else who is very careless," said Abbigal Martinez.
Critics of this movement say if a person can vote at the age of 18 he or she can decide if they want to buy a tobacco product.
The state's public health committee is reviewing the bill.
