EUGENE, Ore. – Max is an independent, intelligent dog looking for someone who is willing to put in the time to get to know him.
“Once he gets to know you, he will be your best friend. He becomes very attached to people he knows,” said a Greenhill volunteer during Max’s visit to KEZI on Tuesday.
Max is a shelter favorite and volunteers describe him as sweet and enthusiastic. He likes toys and playing tug-of-war. He will need regular walks and playtime. "Max is a smart, well-behaved dog that will bring a lot of love to a new home," a Greenhill volunteer said.
Max has been at Greenhill Humane Society since June 5, and arrived at the shelter as a stray. He could go to a family with older teenagers, but must be the only pet in the home.
Max is 5-years-old and weighs 54 pounds. His fee is $175, which includes the cost of vaccinations, microchip identification, spaying or neutering, a certificate for a free veterinary exam and more.
Max visited KEZI 9 News as Pet of the Week for the second time in his quest to find a forever home.
Every Tuesday, KEZI showcases homeless pets on the Midday newscast at 11 a.m. If you are interested in Max or other animals at Greenhill Humane Society, click here.
Greenhill Humane Society is located at 88530 Green Hill Road and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Its phone number is 541-689-1503.
To ensure a good match is made, potential adopters must go to the animal shelter in person to meet with the animal and kennel staff. All family members should be present to ensure the animal is compatible with everyone in the household.
