ROSEBURG, Ore. – The partnership between the Community Cancer Center and Oregon Health & Science University continues to benefit patients.
It’s been about a year since KEZI 9 News first reported about the collaboration, and now, they’ve come up with a way to make sure their top specialists are weighing in on their patients’ care by putting together a local Tumor Board.
The board is a group of physicians who meet on a regular basis to review patients’ diagnosis and plan for the best care possible.
Members include pathologists, radiologists, surgeons and medical and radiation oncologists. Other specialists are invited to join when needed, such as gynecologists and urologists.
The plan is for the group to meet once a month, and more meetings will be added as needed.
KEZI 9 Checks In is a monthly reminder for women to do a self-breast exam to check for lumps or changes. You can sign up here.
