EUGENE, Ore -- Flowers can add color and spruce up your patio, but sometimes you want height. If so, consider planting a tree in a container.
Caleb Johnson, with Johnson Brothers Garden Market, showcased several options from flowering trees to evergreens.

One option is a hydrangea tree, or if you want a smaller plant, try a small fruit tree.
"Citrus are great in containers and if you want something smaller, you can go with a Japanese Maple. And there are rose trees which are awesome for a blast of color all summer long as well," Johnson said.
A dwarf lilac tree is another option. Johnson says the lilac is grafted onto a tree so what grows is a lilac in a lollipop shape. Olive trees also do well in containers.
"There are a lot of olive trees that are hardy. They are evergreens. They don't require a lot of water. They are slow growing so really great," Johnson added.
Other trees to plant include the Rose of Sharon and Nishiki Willow.
Johnson Brothers Garden Market is located at 91444 Coburg Road in Eugene.
