CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A small business owner in Corvallis can now afford to offer his employees a savings plan thanks to OregonSaves.

Saleem Norani owns Cork and Bottle Shoppe. He said the savings program has allowed him to offer his employees a way to save for retirement.

OregonSaves is a state initiative offering a retirement plan for Oregon workers who don't currently have one.

Norani said OregonSaves has also helped small business owners be more competitive against larger companies in hiring talented employees.

"In order to retain quality workers, well this is one of the benefits that large companies are able to do. And we as small businesses, we were not able to offer that."
