OregonSaves off to swift start

People working in Oregon are now able to save for retirement thanks to a new retirement savings program called OregonSaves.

EUGENE, ORE - More than $100,000 has already been saved by Oregonians thanks to a new retirement savings program called "OregonSaves."

The program is offered to any Oregon employee whose current employer doesn't offer a savings plan.

There were 100 people signed up in the first pilot phase of OregonSaves. They saved more than $44,000 since July. In the second phase, nearly $65,000 has been saved by the close to 900 participants.

According to OregonSaves, the second pilot phase includes 42 businesses and 2,258 eligible employees.
